A busy week at The Bushey Academy, with examinations complete for all year groups. Yesterday art students were inspired by the surroundings at Kew Gardens. Last week music students returned buzzing from the Purcell School for Music after their concert. They took part in the event themed as 'Musicals', with costumes to match.
I often focus on the wealth of enrichment opportunities students enjoy at the academy. I am keen to include updates from more lessons as well, and this week students in a Year 8 English lesson were bringing 'Macbeth' into the twenty-first century in a range of creative ways, including the 24 hour news coverage below.
Year 10 are making the most of their Intervention week, which is in full swing today. All students are aiming to complete the European Computer Driving License (ECDL) qualification. This is a professional level IT qualification that also counts as a GCSE equivalent. So far over 100 students have passed at least one unit, with more to come next week.
Final word this week goes to our Year 11 students who had their Prom last Friday. The stretched Hummer certainly made sure some students made an entrance! The DJ and photographer commented on how impressively our students conducted themselves. This is always lovely to hear.
