The penultimate week of term has seen lots of projects completed, or reaching their climax.
Grease has been a runaway success, with excellent audiences commenting on the professionalism of cast, band and crew. It feels more like a West End Show than a school production, and I would like to congratulate all involved for their months of hard work and extraordinary results.
Data week has involved students turning real data samples from around the school into statistical responses. One group were sampling favourite sports, and another how long it took to do your hair in the morning!
Last week we held our New Staff Induction, to welcomed colleagues who will be joining our team in September. As the school expands we need additional teachers and support staff to meet our growing needs, and they all seemed to settle in well straight away. I look forward to introducing them to you in September.
Stonehenge was the venue for Year 7 Gifted and Talented students earlier in the week, who drew together their term's enrichment with a visit to this World Heritage Site.
The end of Year 10 Intervention week saw over 100 members of the year group complete all the units of the European Computer Driving License (ECDL) qualification. This will be of practical benefit to them, and ensures they start Year 11 with a GCSE level qualification already to their name. Well done to them all.
Next week sees further highlights: Students visiting the Battlefields of the First World War in Belgium, Sports day at Woodside Stadium on Monday, and our final charity event; 'Wear a Summer Shirt to School' day on the last day of term.
