I am delighted to end the term by celebrating The Bushey Academy's achievement of the Investors in People Health and Wellbeing Award. This award confirms the positive approach the academy takes towards all staff. We have been working towards this for nearly two years, and hearing confirmation of our success this week is a great way to end the term. By meeting the wellbeing needs of our staff in what can be a demanding job, we can better serve the students in our care.
Students have had an even more adventurous week than usual, with A Level Psychology and Biology students off site and enjoying their field of study. Students experienced a day trip to the Battlefields of the First World War, and are pictured below at the Menin Gate, and in the trenches soldiers would have walked through one hundred years ago.
Our annual Sports Day was a great success. School records fell on an excellent day of inter-house competition, with Edison emerging triumphant. A record 250 parents came along to enjoy the day, which was particularly pleasing. Your support is always appreciated.
With many students looking forward to their summer holiday, Year 13 students came back to school this week for their farewell tea. Some of them said they were missing school already: Proud to Belong to the last!
It has been a wonderful year. I hope students don't miss school too much over the summer holiday, and I look forward to seeing you all in September. Years 7, 9, 11 and 12 are with us on 3rd September, and all Year groups from 4th September. Before then, I hope everyone has a much deserved break.
