Home and away

This week students have been out in the community achieving success in a range of arenas, whilst preparations are underway for several forthcoming events in school.

Students enjoyed taking part in the first round of the Debate Mate Urban Debate League. The team consisted of Year 7 students, who will carry their points forward into the next phase of the competition having performed very well. Our Gifted and Talented students had a very informative visit to Ernst and Young, the professional services firm headquarters in London. Ernst and Young is one of the global 'big four' audit firms, and the visit was made possible by our collaboration with Job Smart. The Table tennis team also enjoyed a successful week at the Milton Keynes tournament.

Back at school the cast list for the summer musical 'Grease' is anxiously awaited after a couple of weeks of intensive auditions. Meanwhile, students are in the final stages of rehearsal for the annual House Drama competition.

Preparations for the annual Celebration of Success event next week are nearing completion, as are plans for our inaugural Maths Week at the start of February. Important events for the diary are the GCSE Options evening for Year 8 parents on 4th February and the Year 11 parents evening on 10th February. We look forward to welcoming you to one of these events.
