I'm in!

The half term break was a busy one for the 28 students and staff who visited Rome on the trip organised jointly by the Philosophy, Beliefs and Ethics and the History departments.

The group spent four days exploring famous landmarks such as the Colosseum, the Sistine Chapel, The Vatican and St. Peter's Square. Whilst in Rome, the students were also able to hear the Pope speak, which is very unusual indeed. The group enjoyed the Rome Time Elevator, as well as the beautiful parks and fountains in the city. They returned with a new appreciation for the historical and religious sites they had visited, and learned a great deal about Roman architecture, politics and food! My thanks to the colleagues who led the trip for giving so freely of their time.

'I'm In!' assembly this week introduced the attendance focus of this half term, with a renewed drive to further improve student attendance. Significant progress has been made in this area, and your support especially at this time of year in keeping students in school as much as possible is important. There are a range of added incentives for high attendance this half term in three categories: those with 100% attendance, those with attendance of 96-99.9%, and those who make the most improvements. We want students to be at school for the sake of their own education, but extra incentives can also be very effective! The next 7 weeks are an excellent time for making significant progress with uninterrupted learning, and your support with this is always appreciated.

Finishing touches are being put to the House Music performances for next week. Tickets are available now on Parentpay. Don't miss out!
